Schoorsteen van de vlasroterij uit het interbellum - Ramskapelle - Belgium - Lonely Chimneys on Waymarking.com

Deze oude schoorsteen behoorde bij vlasroterij. Ten vroegste in 1930 startte de eigenaar, in functie van de in de streek opbloeiende vlasteelt, ook een vlasroterij op. Dit bedrijfsgebouw verrees ten noorden van het ateliergebouw en was voorzien van een rootkuip en een zwingelhok. Een stoommachine uit de brouwerij van Stalhille zorgde voor de energievoorziening.

Een drietal zwingelmolens werden aangedreven door een Leister-benzinemoter van 6pk.

This old chimney belonged to a flax straw factory. In 1930 at the earliest, the owner also started up a flax retting plant as a result of the flax cultivation that was flourishing in the region. This company building arose to the north of the workshop building and was equipped with a root tub and a swing house. A steam engine from the Stalhille brewery provided the energy supply.

Three scutching mills were driven by a 6hp Leister petrol engine.
