Rome, Kansas is not much more than a wide spot in the road. A grain elevator by the railroad tracks is the primary commercial enterprise here. The town has no Post Office and is so small that the Wikipedia article does not even list a population. The waymark coordinates are the intersection of Rome Road and E 90th Street, by the elevators.
Rome, Italy has been a major settlement for three millennia. Her history goes so far back that the founding of the city itself is the stuff of myth and legend. As the heart of the Roman Empire, she ruled the world for a thousand years. Today the population is nearly three million. Rome figures prominently in the New Testament; both Peter and Paul traveled there, preached there, and met their end at the hands of the Roman rulers there.
