NL Onderweg naar de Bouwhofmolen in Ugchelen vond ik dit mooie wandelpad met een bruggetje over de Ugchelse Beek.

In 1686 wordt de molen voor het eerst genoemd, maar hij is ouder. De molen was niet de enige in de omgeving. In 1747 stonden er op de Bouwhof drie papiermolens. Pas vanaf 1839 komt de naam Bouwhofmolen regelmatig voor als verwijzing naar deze molen.

In 1884 werd het vervaardigen van papier gestopt. De molen werd toen ingericht als wasserijmolen. In 1897 werd er een stoomketel geplaatst, maar het waterrad bleef in gebruik. Na 1930 raakte het waterrad in verval en tussen 1940 en 1945 moet het zijn gesloopt. In 1973 werd de wasserij stopgezet.

In 2003 heeft men de fundering en het metselwerk hersteld. In 2004 is er een nieuw waterrad geplaatst, waarbij ook een nieuwe watergoot geplaatst is. In 2005 heeft waterschap Veluwe de molentak uitgegraven zodat er weer water op het rad kan stromen. Het nieuwe waterrad drijft geen werktuigen aan. Langs de beek werd er een wandelpad aangelegd, zodat het waterrad te zien is. Het bruggetje moet dan ook zijn aangelegd.

The mill is first mentioned in 1686, but it is older. The mill was not the only one in the area. In 1747 there were three paper mills on the Bouwhof. It is not until 1839 that the name Bouwhofmolen appears regularly as a reference to this mill.

Paper production was stopped in 1884. The mill was then used as a laundry mill. A steam boiler was installed in 1897, but the water wheel remained in use. After 1930 the water wheel fell into disrepair and between 1940 and 1945 it must have been demolished. The laundry was discontinued in 1973.

In 2003 the foundation and masonry were repaired. A new water wheel was installed in 2004, along with a new water gutter. In 2005, the Veluwe water board excavated the mill branch so that water can flow onto the wheel again. The new water wheel does not power any implements. A walking path has been constructed along the stream, so that the water wheel can be seen. The bridge must therefore be constructed.
