Thomas Pitman Uptegrove
Born: November 11, 1912, Montgomery County, MO
Died: March 2, 1990, Columbia, MO
Thomas Pitman Uptegrove, son of George Isaac Uptegrove and Helen Hensley, was a life long resident of Montgomery County, Missouri. He was a farmer and served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.


The Structure:
Named the Uptegrove Shelter, this gazebo acts in this park as a pavilion and shelter. The picnic tables are under it, and can be moved around for gatherings, etc.
This gazebo, structure, is an open gazebo with aluminum poles and roof. The roof sports a cupola which provides air movement under the roof.

It is dedicated to Newton & Tom Uptegrove for there many contributions to the Montgomery City parks system.
