The oldest castle complex in Germany high above Lake Constance naturally also includes a mill from the 17th century.
Tightly squeezed into the sandstone rock, the water power of a small brook was used here until 1952. To increase efficiency, the water is channeled through a channel onto an overshot wheel. With a diameter of 7.80 m, it is one of the largest water wheels still in use in Central Europe.
