The parish and hamlet of Kemback lies three miles to the east of the Fife town of Cupar in eastern Scotland. The parish church, a replacement for a medieval church, sits at the foot of a wooded hillside facing west. The war memorial lies just next, also facing westwards on the elevated site.
The memorial takes the form of a rustic cross on a tapering pedestal with an inverted sword carved in relief. Underneath is the inscription:
'IN MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THIS PARISH WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1919'
Underneath are 11 names and units in black leaded lettering.
