NL Ik zag vandaag grote banners om reclame te maken voor een rommelmarkt in Lopik. Ik besloot er een kijkje te nemen. Op het terrein van de Hervormde Kerk waren allerlei tenten opgericht en waren veel spullen te koop. Er waren ook oliebollen en taart, een rad van avontuur en een springkasteel voor de kinderen. De opbrengst van de rommelmarkt gaat naar de Hervormde Kerk (en hun centrum de Schaapskooi) en een goed doel.

De rommelmarktcommissie valt onder de beheerscommissie van verenigingsgebouw “De Schaapskooi”. De Schaapskooi is het gemeenschapshuis van de Hervormde Kerk Lopik. Deze commissie is begonnen met het houden van een rommelmarkt om geld in te zamelen voor het verenigingsgebouw. Hieruit is de rommelmarktcommissie ontstaan. De opbrengst van de rommelmarkt is bestemd voor De Schaapskooi, en een deel voor een ander jaarlijks te bepalen goed doel. Het hele jaar door (uitgezonderd de maand augustus) wordt er op de laatste zaterdag van de maand spullen ingezameld. Deze worden meteen gesorteerd en in dozen gedaan, en op de zolder van De Schaapskooi opgeslagen. Grotere spullen kunnen worden opgehaald, en worden op een aparte locatie in een schuur opgeslagen. Elk jaar wordt in het najaar de datum van de rommelmarkt bepaald en begint de commissie met de voorbereidingen. Met medewerking van veel gemeenteleden, maar ook van mensen buiten de gemeente worden er spullen opgehaald, gesorteerd, en uiteindelijk de rommelmarkt opgebouwd en gehouden.
ENG I saw big banners today advertising a flea market in Lopik. I decided to take a look. All kinds of tents had been erected on the grounds of the Reformed Church and many things were for sale. There were also oliebollen and pie, a wheel of adventure and a bouncy castle for the children. The proceeds of the flea market go to the Reformed Church (and their center the Schaapskooi) and a good cause.

The flea market committee falls under the management committee of the association building "De Schaapskooi". The Schaapskooi is the community center of the Reformed Church Lopik. This committee has started holding a flea market to raise money for the association building. This is how the flea market committee was born. The proceeds of the flea market are intended for De Schaapskooi, and a portion for another charity to be determined annually. All year round (except August) items are collected on the last Saturday of the month. These are immediately sorted and boxed, and stored in the attic of De Schaapskooi. Larger items can be picked up and stored in a shed at a separate location. Every year in the autumn the date of the flea market is determined and the committee starts the preparations. With the cooperation of many members of the congregation, but also of people outside the municipality, things are collected, sorted, and eventually the flea market is built and held.
