This Mark is part of the Deformation Monitoring Network (DMN) monitoring national-scale tectonic deformation and regional and local-scale deformation to maintain the NZGD2000 deformation model.
After a major deformation event such as the 2011 Christchurch and 2016 Kaikoura earthquakes, the DMN is to maintain the other control networks for the effects of deformation and to re-establish the other control networks. The current height of this mark is 104.247m using the measurement of 2013.
