The Odessa Meteor Craters are a field of impact craters, one of which is the third largest in the United States that is still visible on the surface. The crater is relatively young, at about 63,500 years old, and was originally about a hundred feet deep. The largest fragment yet discovered of the impactor, about 70 lbs, is on display in the nearby museum. This self-guided trail, with eight stations, takes visitors down the rim and back out again. One of the stations is an exploration tunnel dug by the WPA; most of the others are information signs. The trail ends at on of the smaller craters.
