The grave was originaly covered with an earthen mound and surrounded by a ditch. This prominent grave contained the burial of a noble woman.
The corpse lay in a burial chamber constructed out of standardized wooden planks that were still in a good state of preservation. Through tree ring dating they could be dated to a time between 680 - 650 B.C. As a standard burial rite the dead woman was laid to rest along with her jewellery and assorted grave goods. Sometime later the chamber was broken into, valuable objects removed and the bones scattered across the chamber floor.
