"Een van de mooiste panden van de binnen stad van Arnhem is wel het voormalige postkantoor aan het Sint Jansplein. Van 1888 tot 2009 heeft het zijn oorspronkelijke functie gehad. Daarna stond het leeg, was het een tijd een boekwinkel en kwam het weer leeg te staan.
Het neogotische pand is een van de meesterwerken van architect Cornelis Peters (1847-1932). Deze bouwde in opdracht van de overheid tientallen postkantoren. Weinig daarvan zijn zo bijzonder als dit bouwwerk aan het Sint Jansplein."

Sinds een aantal jaar is in het oude pand het Taphuis gevestigd, hier kun je zelf je biertje tappen.
Er is een brede keus aan bier en wijn en je kunt hier naast lekker borrelen ook een hapje eten.
