Located on the grounds of
Gunston Hall (his home), this is the grave of
George Mason, father of the
Virginia Declaration of Rights--some of these words were used in the
Declaration of Independence, and as the basis for the
Bill of Rights. Mason was one of three men who helped develop the United States Constitution but refused to sign it because it did not contain anything about rights of citizens.
On the side of the Tomb it says:

in the 67th year of his Age

and of the Virginia Declaration of Rights
