This Internal Combustion Engine display is located at York Park in York, Ontario. The engine is at the site of a former Flour and Grist Mill and dam along the Grand River. The dam and mill operated starting in the 1820s or 30s until around 1915 when the dam decayed.

I believe the concrete base was a former part of the dam left behind when the dam was demolished, although I cannot be sure. The combustion engine was possibly used on the dam to open sluice gates or in the mill for some function. The mill building was taken apart years later in 1921.

In 2000 a plaque was added to the base by the York, Grand River Historical Society.
