This Civil War mound was erected as a grassy mound in 1897 in the Old Hartford Cemetery in Hartford, New York. In 1910 an urn was placed atop the mound. This Civil War Memorial honors 23 Hartford men who lost their lives in the war. A sign next to the mound reads:

MEMORIAL MOUND
COMPANY E; 123rd N.Y. INFANTRY
1862 - 1865
LADS OF THE 123rd WE REMEMBER
AND HONOR YOUR DEEDS
YOU SERVED SO THAT WE WOULD
REMAIN UNITED AND FREE!
Signage was placed at the roadside by the Town of Hartford in 2014 which reads:
