Saint John of Nepomuk (or John Nepomucene) [Czech: Jan Nepomucký; German: Johannes Nepomuk; Latin: Ioannes (or Ioannis) Nepomucenus (c. 1345 – March 20, 1393) is the saint of Bohemia (Czech Republic), who was drowned in the Vltava river at the behest of Wenceslaus, King of the Romans and King of Bohemia. Later accounts state that he was the confessor of the queen of Bohemia and he refused to divulge the secrets of the confessional. On the basis of this account, John of Nepomuk is considered the first martyr of the Seal of the Confessional, a patron against calumnies and, because of the manner of his death, a protector from floods and drowning.

Kenotaf sv. Jana Nepomuckého je umísten u chrámu sv. Víta mezi III. nádvorím Pražského hradu a námestím U sv. Jirí. Je dílem J. F. Platzera z roku 1763.
Andel pozvedá mrtvé telo sv. Jana Nepomuckého, u jehož nohou jsou dva andílkové: jeden z nich drží kríž a druhý líbá svetcovu nohu. Na profilovaném podstavci spocívá kartuše s reliéfem zobrazujícím svržením sv. Jana z mostu a ponekud níže je malá oválná kartuše se znakem faráre Václava Krecinského, který toto sousoší nechal zhotovit (jednorožec a písmena W. K. pod prelátským kloboukem), a skrytý letopocet obsahující nápis: DIVO IOANNI NEPOMUCENO ELABORATA ET SACRATA. Vlevo je na boku kamenného podstavce poznamenáno, že v roce 1904 provedenou renovaci uhradil kanovník dr. Jan Nep. Sedlák. Pred sousoším je upevnená rokoková železná mrížka.
