The entrance to Laurel Park on Longmeadow Street contains a pair of brick columns. On the south column is a bronze plaque which is inscribed:

Laurel Park is about 0.32 miles wide from east to west and 0.2 miles wide from north to south. Running through the park is Cooley Brook which in places forms small ponds. The area once held reservoirs for the Longmeadow Water System. There is an east-west trail through which connects to Bliss Park on the east across Laurel Street. The park offers the following recreational opportunities:
