For an Eagle Scout project a Boy Scout from Troop 117 in Bixby, Oklahoma organized the placement of two flagpoles. The flagpoles were placed at Washington Irving Park in Bixby, OK, near the entrance to the park. The first week after the flagpoles were set the Boy Scout and his father raised and lowered the flags daily. The duty was then handed over to the park officials.

Washington Irving Park has a walking trail, lots of shade trees, pinic tables, shelters and a amphitheater.
