Photos taken on 7 May 2022. The sign is located 1 block south of the airport main terminal. It's about 15 feet white, made out of aluminum and is painted white. It appears to be in the shape of flight wings and has a silhouette aspect featuring a plane in flight.

The airport is classified by the FAA as a Regional Reliever and was once known as Torrance Municipal Airport; it was renamed for local sports and war hero Louis Zamperini on December 7, 1946, the 5th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack."
