Two plain cement towers with "Hither" and "Dither" on them. The plaque speaks of high back chairs, but I'm not seeing them.
Name of organization that built the memorial: Artist Benjamin McVey

Private or Public Monument?: Private

Text on the memorial:
Hither Dither
Donated to the City of Bastrop
by Artist Benjamin McVey

The work acts as a memorialization of 9/11, and to those who perished. Two high-back steel chairs (one per tower) represent the human figure, which are encased in the concrete. The works speak to our need to be present (hither), but also to our continuing state of uncertainty (dither) due to national and international political and financial issues since the tragedy. Each tower weights about 2000 lbs. It was important for the work to not only feel heavy through the subject matter, but also to be physically heavy.
