According to the motto "Children learn from nature", the ÖSW offers a wide range of opportunities to get to know nature and the environment in a practical way and to acquire skills in the sense of education for sustainable development on an area of around 33,000 m2.
In the almost 20 show and demonstration gardens (including monastery, tea, herb, farmer and dyer gardens), participants in educational events or interested visitors can discover a large number of native and exotic plants.

The educational programme is primarily aimed at children, young people and supporting organisations, such as day-care centres, day-care workers, schools and associations, and includes themed mornings, project days, educational events and recreational activities.
