Arromanches-les-Bains is located on Gold Beach and is known for the temporary artificial harbor "Mullberry B". The ruins of this harbor are still clearly visible.
The landings at Gold Beach took place a little further to the east, from the town of Asnelles
A nice vantage point over Arromanches is at the Sherman tank on the east side.
A little higher and a little further to the east is a lookout point with a compass rose in the middle. The compass rose is made of small stones and the Letters N E S and W are yellow.
Nearby is a small museum where you can watch a film about D-Day and the days after, 360 degrees around you.
