M151A1 Military Utility Tactical Truck (MUTT)
Designed to replace the M28 series of jeeps of the 1950s, the MUTT had an independent suspension system and short wheel base, making it excellent for driving on rough terrain. The major drawback to this system was that it was dangerous on paved roads, where it tended to flip over on sharp turns. The MUTT was the main combat jeep of the U.S.Army and Marine Corps from Vietnam until the development of the HMMWV (or Humvee) in the 1980s.
This particular MUTT was produced in 1967 and served with the 28th Infantry Division at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania, until 1990.
