vos sancti patroni.
factorem omnium deprecemini
Vt a peste saeVa
faMe aC IngentI
InCenDIo
in diebus nostris simus liberi
sanCta trInItas VnVs DeVs
MIserere nobIs et theresIae
regInae nostrae qVae In nostras
pro statVae tVae reparatIone
eXhIbItas preCes gratIose
faVebat
Übersetzung laut rollettmuseum.at: (Heilige Dreifaltigkeit, einer Gott!
statVa haeC ILLVstrIs In
honoreM DeI ab InsIgnIbVs
benefaCtorIbVs renoVata

The Holy Trinity Column in Baden, often referred to as the Plague Column, contains several chronograms at once. The oldest chronogram indicates the year 1714 (in the lines 4 - 7):
electi ac dilecti
vos sancti patroni.
factorem omnium deprecemini
Vt a peste saeVa
faMe aC IngentI
InCenDIo
in diebus nostris simus liberi
Translation according to rollettmuseum.at: (You chosen and beloved holy patrons, ask the creator of all things that we may be free in our days from the cruel pestilence, hunger and the violent fire)
1714 is the year when the construction of the Holy Trinity Column was started. In 1713 the plague had broken out in Baden and was defeated in the same year. Thereby "only" 174 people died (in 1679/80 there were 1200 deaths). However, 1714 was also the year of a town fire and the somewhat successful end of the War of the Spanish Succession.
Another chronogram refers to the year 1756 and reads:
sanCta trInItas VnVs DeVs
MIserere nobIs et theresIae
regInae nostrae qVae In nostras
pro statVae tVae reparatIone
eXhIbItas preCes gratIose
faVebat
Translation according to rollettmuseum.at: (Holy Trinity, one God! Have mercy on us and on our Queen Theresia, who graciously responded to our requests for the restoration of your statue)
In 1756, the then Empress Maria Theresa agreed to the necessary restoration of the Holy Trinity Column after a visit to Baden.
Another renovation took place in 1833 and was also documented with a commemorative plaque:
statVa haeC ILLVstrIs In
honoreM DeI ab InsIgnIbVs
benefaCtorIbVs renoVata
Translation according to rollettmuseum.at: (This sublime statue was renovated to the glory of God by outstanding benefactors)
This renovation was begun under the direction of Archduke Anton Victor in 1832 and completed in 1833.
The fourth chronogram refers to the year 1884 and reads:
statVa restaVrata
eXIMIa LIberaLItate
theresIae goesChL
CIVIs honorarIae baDensIs
Translation according to rollettmuseum.at: (The statue was restored through the extraordinary generosity of Theresia Göschl, honorary citizen of Baden)
The honorary citizen Theresia Göschl had donated the cost of 3350 guilders for a restoration at that time.
There were other restorations during all these years and until today the Holy Trinity Column is restored again and again and mistakes from previous restorations are repaired. That is why it is currently in a very beautiful condition.
