The huge, dour building is a headquarters of Polskie Radio - a public broadcaster that has several channels - national, regional, and international. You can find here the main studios for the most important channel - Jedynka.

The Jedynka is dedicated to information and music. The Program was started in 1926 and it covers 90% of Poland. It can be found on 63 different frequencies but here in Warsaw, you should search for 92,4 FM.

The building itself is interesting too. It was designed by Bohdan Pniewski and is thought to be one of his worst works. The legend says that it was meant to be a prison. It is easy to believe as the building reminds a fortress and has several rooms with thick walls and heavy, iron doors with peepholes. In fact, that is a bomb shelter.

Every day at noon, the St. Mary's Trumpet Call (Hejnał Mariacki) can be heard. It is a traditional, five-note melody that is played every hour by a trumpeter on the highest tower of the city's Saint Mary's Basilica in Cracow. In 2016 the full 4-minute melody came back to the daily program.
