"During an Aerospace Defense Command night training mission, Convair F-102A-80-CO Delta Dagger, 56-1517, of the 157th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron, South Carolina Air National Guard, McEntire Air National Guard Base, South Carolina, collides with Lockheed C-130E Hercules, 64-0558, of the 318th Special Operations Squadron, out of Pope AFB, North Carolina, during a simulated interception, over the Bayboro area of Horry County, east of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. One is killed in the Delta Dagger and all twelve on board the Hercules perish.[142][143] Some press reports list Conway, South Carolina, west of the crash site, as the location." ~ Wikipedia
"BAYBORO, S. C., Dec. 5 (UPI) —A jet fighter and a military transport plane collided in flight over coastal South Carolina tonight, killing at least four persons.
"One plane was an F-102 from McEntire Air National Guard Base near Columbia. The body of the pilot was recovered shortly after 10 P.M.
"The dead pilot was identified as Capt. Thomas C. Hagood Jr. of Lexington, S. C., a National Guard pilot, according to The Associated Press.
