In 1878, when the northeastern areas of the island of Texel were reclaimed, a large mill was needed to drain the area. During construction, the mill was fitted with an auger. In 1928 the mill was fitted with streamlined blades and three screw pumps according to the system of mill maker Dekker from Leiden. The mill fell out of operation in the 1960s and became the property of the De Hollandsche Molen Association in 1970, which had a restoration carried out a few years later. Later, two of the three screw pumps were also made grinding again. The rods are now equipped with the jib wing system with sails and the mill voluntarily grinds the water around in a circuit.
