This afternoon, the castle of La Palma reopens its doors to all those interested in visiting what was one of the fortresses belonging to the "Triangle of Fogo".
From this Saturday, August 14, until the end of September, residents and foreigners will be able to access the castle on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, in the morning at 11:30 and 12:30, and in the afternoon at 5:00 and 6:00 p.m.
The circuit, which has an estimated duration of 45 minutes, will consist of a tour of the roofs of the fortress, the inner courtyard of the building and the rail system. In addition, the visit highlights the possibility of entering the chapel, as well as accessing the cell that the 23-F coup leader Antonio Tejero occupied in his day. Along the same lines, another of the factors that generate more interest among the public are the views of the fortress, from which you can see the entire Ferrol estuary.
In another order of things, the entrance to the castle will be free and a maximum capacity will be limited to 15 people (girls and boys included).
tourist office
From the local Tourist Office they report that every year tickets to access the fortress are sold out, so they insist on arranging the visit in advance. To do this, you can make a reservation by going to the office in person, (avenida de Galicia number 45, low), or by contacting the number 630 885 761, and the email oite.mugardos@gmail.com, (this option is not operational at the moment).
In compliance with the established sanitary measures, from the Mugardos Council, they remember the obligation to use the hydroalcoholic gel before and after entering the castle, as well as the use of the mask.
