"History
Skidôme Rucphen was realized in 1995 by covering an existing brush track in six weeks. This made it the first indoor ski slope in the Netherlands with real snow and, at the time of its opening, the largest in Europe. The only ski slope had a height difference of 22 meters with a length of 130 meters and a width of 25 meters. The elevators consisted of two conveyor belts and a dish elevator. In addition, the complex contained a ski school, café-restaurant and a winter sports shop.
Expansion 2011
Expansion
In the summer of 2011, Skidôme expanded: The current plan included an ice kart track and a second slope with a slope reserved for snowboarders and freestyle skiers. On January 20, 2012 was the official opening of the completely renovated and expanded Skidôme Rucphen.
Skidôme Rucphen currently has three ski slopes, the original slope, a slope for the fun park and a red slope for experienced skiers. Also, it has a beginner slope. The original slope has kept the saucer lift, the treadmills have been removed on this slope but have been replaced since September 2017. The two attached slopes have two treadmills and since September 2017 two saucer lifts, the beginner slope also has a treadmill. The flat section between the extension and the former track is fitted with a Swiss cord.
Since September 2011, IceKart Rucphen and GlowGolf Rucphen have also been opened, making Skidôme Rucphen even more versatile."
