This oval shield with engraved upper carving of 1689 and crowned, presents five shields of Military Orders associated with the Peninsular Cister (Calatrava, Alcántara, Avis, Temple and San Jorge). as well as a sample of rich ornamentation applied with foliage geometric motifs between Rampant lions: flowered cross, ribbons, spirals. The emblem of Saint Bernard completes this style: double band of squares and gules, miter, fleurs de lis and staff supported by the abbot's arm with cowl. The historical relationship with the Monastery of San Martin de Castaneda gives it its reason for being."
