Quonset hut - Elst, NL - Quonset Huts on Waymarking.com

Midden in een weiland bij een boerderij aan de rand van Elst ligt een quonset hut.
Het lijkt erop dat hij nu wordt gebruikt als schuur of voor werktuigen of lifestock
Of dit een officiele is of dat hij hier later is neergezet is mij niet bekend.
Het gebied rond Elst is tijdens de WOII 8 maanden lang frontlinie gebied geweest. Dus het is dus heel goed mogelijk dat het een overblijfsel is uit die tijd.
Na het mislukken van het veroveren van de bruggen over de Rijn tijdens market Garden barste hier in sept 1944 barste hier de hel los.
Alle burgers moesten evacueren.
Er barste een strijd los met de Linge als frontlinie
Er ontstond een loopgraven oorlog in het niemands land tussen Arnhem en Nijmegen.
Aan de noordelijke zijde, de Huissense kant van de Linge zaten de duitsers en aan de zuidelijk kant bij Elst en Bemmel de geallieerden. 8 Maandenlang vochten ze hier, ‘op de heuvel’, een bloedige loopgraven oorlog uit waarbij velen sneuvelden.

This Quonset hut is located in the middle of a meadow near a farm on the edge of Elst.
It looks like it is now being used as a shed or for tools or lifestock
I don't know whether this is an official one or whether it was relocated here later. I could not find out any information about this. What i do know is...
The area around Elst was a frontline area for 8 months during WWII. So it is quite possible that it is indeed a relic from that time.
After the failure of capturing the bridges over the Rhine during Market Garden, all hell broke loose here in September 1944.
All civilians had to evacuate.
A battle broke out with the Linge as the front line
A trench war started in the no man's land between Arnhem and Nijmegen.
The Germans sat on the northern side, the Huissen, Driel and Heteren side of the Linge, and the Allies on the southern side near Elst and Bemmel.
For 8 months they fought here, 'on the hill', a bloody trench war in which many on both sides were killed.
