This section of trail is essentially an extension of the road now known as Rifle Road. It is straight and flat.
This pathway (maintained by the National Capital Commission) is part of the Ottawa West Winter Trails (which total 15 kilometres). This section of ski trail is groomed by the Kanata Nordic Ski Club for skate skiers and traditional.
If this trailhead is too busy, cross over Carling Avenue, park along Rifle Road and use the northbound groomed ski trail (Greenbelt Pathway) headed to Shirleys Bay.
