The Rocks Museum in Carrer de Andorra la Vella is made up of various specimens of sedimentary, magmatic and metamorphic rocks, as well as high-quality fossils, originating in Andorra and accompanied by an explanatory panel.
The objective of this museum is to publicize the value of global geodiversity and the geological heritage of Andorra, with the observation and analysis of the natural elements present in our environment.
This museum is divided into three segments, located in urban areas with very easy access:
rock garden
The Rock Garden is located at the entrance to Central Park. In it you will find a set of the most present rocks in Andorra, with an indicative panel that will explain the details and inform you of the use that was made or that is made of them: constructions, buildings, etc.
geological itinerary
This second itinerary, made up of 35 stops, each one also with its indicative map, begins in Prat de la Creu street. It runs through different streets of the parish and will allow you to know in detail each rock that is integrated into the buildings or constructions.
Itinerary through granite architecture
Lastly, the itinerary through granite architecture begins in Plaça Príncep Benlloch and also runs through several streets inside the parish. This tour has a total of 10 stops, where you will see several buildings that belong to the so-called granite architecture: at each stop you will be able to observe this architectural trend and thus understand its importance in Andorra.
This last itinerary is done in collaboration with the Inventory and Conservation Area of ??the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Culture and Cooperation.
