Samsø Observatory is located in the former telegraph building at Nørreskiftevej 17 in Ballen on the Danish island of Samsø.

In 2005, photographer Jens Jørgen Øster-Mortensen formed a limited company with others interested in astronomy to take over the building. A rotunda with a rotatable dome was attached to the building and a small telescope (TEC APO 140 ED) with an opening of 140mm and a focal length of 980mm with a TTS-300 mount was purchased.

The observatory was financed with public funds and can be visited by appointment (by phone or via the associated Facebook group).
