Little Caesars Area has been the home of the Detroit Red Wings of the NHL and the Detroit Pistons of the NBA since 2017. It replaced Joe Louis Arena for the Red Wings and the Palace of Auburn Hills for the Pistons. The facility also hosts concerts, UFC, figure skating, WWE, and other events.
In June 2018, the arena was named "Sports Facility of the Year" at the 2018 Sports Business Awards.
