[FIN] Henrik Eolenius (syntynyt n. 1639 Turku) oli suomalainen ylioppilas ja tunnettu taikauskon uhri. Hänestä ei kovin moni tiedä, mutta väitetty noituus jota hän harjoitti oli aika erikoiselta kuullostavaa nykyaikana. Waymarkin koordinaatit vievät sinut Katedralskolan I Åbo rakennuksen eteen. Eoleniuksen isä Tuomas oli turkulainen porvari. Hän oli Turun katedraalikoulun oppilas ja pääsi ylioppilaaksi 1658 tai 1659, toimien sitten Turun akatemiassa eli yliopistossa alimman luokan stipendiaattina syyslukukauden 1660 ja kevätlukukauden 1661. Hän harjoitti itämaisten kielten opintoja, kunnes opiskelijatoveri nimeltään Pythius antoi hänet ilmi konsistorille noituudesta. Ilmiannon mukaan hän olisi luvannut opettaa taikuutta ja oppinut itse päivässä hepreaa ja syyriaa. Sitä ennen oli Eoleniusta pidetty suorastaan tyhmänä ihmisenä, mutta siis aivan yhtäkkiä muuttunut muitakin etevämmäksi. Konsistori vangitutti välittömästi Eoleniuksen ja heitti hänet akatemian vankilaan prubbaan. Eolenius vakuutti syyttömyyttään, mutta konsistori tuomitsi hänet Mooseksen lain mukaan vaatimattomasti vain kuolemaan. Varsinkin varakansleri piispa Johannes Terserus vaati tätä. Osalle akatemian profesoreista olisi riittänyt karkoitus yliopistosta ainaisesti. Kuoleman tuomio kuitenkin tuli, vaikka yhtäkkistä kielien oppimista ei sen enempää varmastikaan tutkittu. Sillä olihan se selvää noituutta, jota kirkko halusi kitkeä pois kovin ottein. Syytteisiin liittyi myös väite että Eolenius on eräälle opiskelutoverilleen opettanut latinaa ja kehottanut tekemään liiton perkeleen kanssa. Kidutus ja mestaus oli hyvinkin lähellä tämän tapaiselle noidalle.
Yllättävä käänne tuomioon tuli kun akatemian kansleri Pietari Brahe nuhteli konsistoria tuomiosta, pitäen sitä akatemian maineelle huonona ja asia pitäisi sopia kaikessa hiljaisuudessa. Tässä kävikin niin että hovioikeus muuttikin sen kirkkorangaistukseksi. Eolenius kuitenkin erotettiin yliopistosta 1670. Eolenius onnistui vielä viisi vuotta myöhemmin saamaan vakavan syyteen; nimittäin Jumalan herjaamisesta. Taisi olla merkitty mies. Kovin paljon ei tiedetä Henrik Eoleniuksen Hän toimi lasten opettajana Artjärven kartanossa 1695. Eoleniuksen tiedetään olleen naimisissa.

Not many people know about her, but the alleged witchcraft she practiced was quite special-sounding in modern times. Tuomas, the father of Eolenius, was a bourgeois from Turku. Henrik was a pupil of the Turku Cathedral School (Katedralskolan I Åbo) and became a student in 1658 or 1659, then working at the Turku Academy as a low-class scholarship holder in the autumn semester of 1660 and the spring semester of 1661. He studied Oriental languages ??until a fellow student named Pythius revealed him to the consistory of witchcraft. According to the accusition, he would have promised to teach magic and learned Hebrew and Syria in a day himself. Before that, Eolenius had been considered a stupid person, but so all of a sudden he became more advanced than others. The Consistory immediately imprisoned Eolenius and threw him into the Academy prison "prubba". Eolenius asserted his innocence, but the Consistant modestly sentenced him to death only under the law of Moses. In particular, Chancellor Bishop Johannes Terserus demanded this. For some of the Academy's professors, expulsion from the university would have been enough forever. However, the death sentence came, although the sudden learning of languages was certainly not further investigated. For it was the clear witchcraft that the church wanted to eradicate with great grasp. The charges were also accompanied by the allegation that Eolenius had taught Latin to one of his fellow students and urged him to make a covenant with the devil. Torture and beheading were very close to a witch like this.
A surprising turn in the verdict came when the Chancellor of the Academy, Peter Brahe, rebuked the Consistory for the verdict, considering it bad for the reputation of the Academy and the matter should be settled in complete silence. This is where the Court of Appeal turned it into a church punishment. However, Eolenius was expelled from the university in 1670. Eolenius still managed to get a serious charge five years later; namely, blasphemy against God. There seems to be a marked man. Not much is known about Henrik Eolenius. He worked as a children's teacher at Artjärvi Manor in 1695. Eolenius is known to be married.
Turku Folk Opera Henrik and Noitavasara is about the fate of Henrik Eolenius. Its premiere was in the courtyard of Turku Castle on Saturday, August 27, 2011.
It was not good to be too smart on 1700-century. Superstition was still in great power.
