The Meseta Ibérica is the name given to a transboundary biosphere reserve located between Spain and Portugal, declared on June 9, 2015 by UNESCO. It covers an area of 1,132,606 hectares (11,326 km²), extending over 87 municipalities in the Spanish provinces of Zamora and Salamanca as well as the Portuguese regions of Duero Superior, Tierra Caliente and Tierra Fría, in the Trás-os-Montes region.

In Spain, the declaration of the reservation was published by resolution dated July 16, 2015 in the Official State Gazette of August 27 of the same year.

The reserve, whose altitude ranges between 100 and 2000 meters above sea level, includes several protected areas, highlighting the natural parks of Arribes del Duero and Lago de Sanabria and its surroundings in Spanish territory and that of the International Duero in the Portuguese part, as well as various spaces of the Natura 2000 Network, such as the Duero Canyons, the Villafáfila Lagoons, the Sierra de la Culebra or the Albufera del Azibo and Romeo, among others. The area is home to animal species such as the black stork, the Egyptian vulture, the Bonelli's eagle, the real owl or the Iberian wolf.

The population within the limits of the reserve amounts to around 300,000 people. There are Roman and medieval remains
