You'll find the field near the dog park and the recycling center at the east side of North Lakes Park. There is plenty of parking, as well as two porta potties. A sign board up front has the airfield rules and a kind suggestion that flyers join the club so their dues can be used towards field maintenance. Their lockers have been battered and the equipment on the field, while usable, looks like it could use some TLC. Their
website looks like it could use a little update, but their
Facebook page is still quite active. The website's main page has a nice aerial view of the field's layout, with the fishing lake not in view.
They typically fly on Saturday and Sunday mornings, with gas-powered enthusiasts typically cutting loose on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The club itself has meetings at 7 PM on the third Tuesday of the month at the rec center across the street at 2001 W Windsor Dr, and everybody is welcome. They also have regular events throughout the year, so check with them for the most current information.
