As of this posting, the entrance fee is $7 for each person 13 years and older: If you fish a lot or have a group, you might consider an annual state parks pass, which pays for itself quickly. There is no ranger station, and you'll square up with the self-pay station at the bottom of the stairs. While annual pass holders have a placard for their rear view mirror, wording on the paperwork at the the self-pay station suggests that it might be a good idea to fill it out anyways. Do be aware that the police patrol the area, looking for scofflaws.

There are no posted hours, but the ramp is lit after dusk. When in doubt, check with the folks over at the Isle du Bois or Johnson Branch Units. Otherwise, you may visit any day of the year, even on holidays.

You probably don't want to launch anything too big here, as word is that there are a lot of tree stumps lurking below the surface. When in doubt, put in over at one of the bigger park units like Isle du Bois, Jordan, or Johnson Branch. There are two lanes with a small boarding pier which is clearly labeled that fishing there is a no-no: Save it for once you're away.

Facilities are fairly primitive, with a single pit toilet off of the parking lot, which can handle up to 75 vehicles. Be aware that the actual launch site does not handle parking -- there is very little room there -- so you'll be launching and then heading back up the hill to the parking lot. Between you and the ramp are about 60 stairs, so keep that in mind for when you return.
