Statue
The life-size bronze statue of a Roman Stoic philosopher, statesman and dramatist Lucius Annaeus Seneca the Younger (4 BC – AD 65) is placed at the medieval gate Puerta del Almodovar in his native town - Córdoba. Seneca is wearing a typical Roman toga and in his hand he holds a scroll. The statue is placed on about 2 meters high limestone pedestal. It was inaugurated in 1965.
Asteroid
2608 Seneca, provisional designation 1978 DA, is a stony asteroid and sub-kilometer near-Earth object of the Amor group, approximately 0.9 kilometers in diameter. It was discovered on 17 February 1978, by German astronomer Hans-Emil Schuster at ESO's La Silla Observatory in northern Chile, and named after Roman philosopher Seneca.
