The only history about
Cairo on Wikipedia is that there was a Post Office from 1887 until 1922. This indicates that Cairo was probably a water-stop town, from the days when a steam locomotive needed to re-fill the boiler every thirty miles or so. Now about all that remains is this rural cemetery of about five hundred grave sites. However, the well-maintained cemetery is still active.
