The Round House was built c1874, specifically designed and erected as a residence for Henry Parker, the engineer who was to be the superintendent of building the first bridge across the Murray River.
The main section of the building is hexagonal in shape, with a central chimney which is also hexagonal in cross-section.The building is constructed of local cliff sandstone of yellowish hue and features rusticated stonework and rustic wooden verandah posts.
