An old fishing district made up of a labyrinth of narrow streets and white houses with slate roofs. It preserves the medieval urban layout in which the houses seem to overlap one another until reaching the “El Chano” viewpoint.

"The Barrio de la Pescadería is a very picturesque place, and together with the Barrio del Cambaral, they gave rise to the settlement that we now know as Luarca.

Its origin dates from the Middle Ages and arose from the need of a people to be close to the sea and the river, that is, to their places of work and life.

Unlike the Barrio del Cambaral , the Barrio de la Pescadería is much more intricate and steeper. Your route may seem like a labyrinth due to the number of entrances and exits that can be found, but do not be alarmed, in the end you will always find the exit.

Its streets are very narrow and are communicated through stairs. The houses in this neighborhood are family dwellings arranged in ascending order occupying the slope that will face the Mirador del Chano .

Although it may be expensive to go up and down this neighborhood, the truth is that the views that are reached from the top and from much of the route are a privilege since you can see the Cantabrian Sea, the Cemetery and the Watchtower ."
