South Kaibab Trail, on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, is the viewpoint of this puzzle. This is a popular trailhead for those wanting to explore the south rim of the national park. This is a steep and strenuous trail, so visitors are warned to be prepared and wear proper shoes and bring plenty of water.
The Grand Canyon is one of the most visited National Parks in the USA, coming in second behind the Great Smoky Mountains, and seeing on average 6 million visitors a year. The year 2020 saw a 50% decline because of the pandemic.
Each year about 30-40% of Grand Canyon visitors are foreign tourists.

South Kaibab Trail
The South Kaibab is very steep, requiring just 6.3 miles (10.1km) to descend 4,860 feet (1481m) from the rim to the Colorado River. It is also one of the few Grand Canyon Trails that follows ridge lines, as opposed to side canyons, and thus offers spectacular unobstructed views.

Never try to hike from the rim to the river and back in one day. Many who tried suffered serious illness or death.
Trailhead elevation: 7260 feet
You should know: The South Kaibab Trail is steep and has no water. Day hikers and overnighters must be prepared. Extreme heat, steep grades, and lack of water have been deadly. In warm weather each hiker should carry - and drink - at least 4 quarts of water.
Grand Canyon hiking differs from almost all other hiking. Here the easy part - downhill - comes first; the tough part - up and out - comes when you are already tired.

Don't underestimate the Grand Canyon.
