View of the west side of Holland Library near the original main entrance on Washington State University campus in 1955 and 2020. The limestone statue was originally called "The Reader" but is informally known as "Nature Boy." The statue was carved in Bedford, Indiana and was designed by Seattle artist Dudley Pratt.

Holland library was built between 1948 and 1950 and was named for former Washington State College President Ernest O. Holland. Holland Library was designed by John Maloney who also designed Todd Hall, Compton Union Building, and Johnson Tower on the WSU campus. In 1994, the Holland Addition was added and later named for former University President Glenn Terrell in 2006. Today, the libraries are referred to together as Holland and Terrell Libraries. The main entrance of the library is through Terrell Library. In 2008, a tunnel was added to connect the ground floor of the newly remodeled CUB within the first floor of the Terrell Library.
