Google translation:
The Buysemolen is named after the last owners of the mill, the Buyse family. For the first proof of existence of the mill we have to go back to 1428. The mill was then the property of the Ninoofse abbey. In 1796 it came into the hands of the Ghent 'Odeyn', after Napoleon had confiscated the monasteries and their properties.

It was not until 1817 that the mill came into the hands of the Buyse family. It remained in action until 1950, but after the death of the last miller it came to a permanent standstill. In 1976 the mill collapsed due to wood rot. At the initiative of the municipality of Herzele, a restoration file is being launched. In August 2009 the Herzelenaar celebrates the official opening of the renovated Buysemolen during the mill festivities. The wooden stake mill is therefore one of the three mills capable of grinding in Herzele.
