DE: Das 1725 errichtete Brühler Schloss Augustusburg wurde erstmalig zur Verwendung als Repräsentationsort der damaligen Bundesregierung in Bonn für ausländische Gäste bei Staatsbesuchen auch von aussen illuminiert. Mit der Ernennung zum Weltkulturerbe 1984 wurde die Beleuchtung erneuert und seitdem wird das Schloss jeden Abend von Sonnenuntergang bis Sonnenaufgang beleuchtet. Gute Plätze zum Fotographieren mit Stativ sind auf dem Pfad links und rechts neben dem östlichen Eingangsportal.

EN: The Augustusburg Palace in Brühl, built in 1725, was also illuminated from the outside for the first time for use as a place of representation by the then federal government in Bonn for foreign guests on state visits. When it was named a World Heritage Site in 1984, the lighting was renewed and since then the castle has been illuminated every evening from sunset to sunrise. Good places to take pictures with a tripod are on the path to the left and right of the eastern entrance portal.
