1981 Amarillo Historic Buildings Survey"A three-story, steel-frame, limestone clad former Post Office building, rectangular in plan with a symmetrical composition and Renaissance ornamental details. The building has a red-tiled hip roof with overhanging eaves, copper gutters and downspouts, and exposed, carved rafter ends. The principal facade is in a two-part composition with slightly projecting end bays. The lower two floors, with an arcade at the ground level and balconied windows above, and grouped by means of a giant composite order of pilasters. The giant order is surmounted by a third story attic. When the structure was converted for use as an office building its windows were reglazed and four of its five central entrance arches were enclosed and block off by a planter. A wide flight of steps originally rose to the open entrance arcade which opened into the Post Office. The decorative iron torcheres that flanked the original staircase are still in place."
