Many who were buried here prior to the 1886 were unable to identified so the Church moved them all to one central location. This location is a walled in garden with a tombstone set in 1925 with the following text:
"To the Unknown Dead of Pohick Church this tribute of respect is paid by many parishioners buried in this hallowed churchyard. The records are lost & the graves and cannot now be identified."
There are pre-1886 graves with known burials, but they all were moved here from other locations in Virginia.
