Sam de Winter ran a suitcase and leather goods business with his wife Jet. He had a lot of administrative experience and was therefore appointed as a local representative of the Jewish Council. The couple were deported to camp Vught on 9 April 1943 with their two sons Robbie and Loekie.
Robbie de Winter was the eldest son of Sam and Henriëtte de Winter. In October 1941 he attended the Joods Lyceum in Den Bosch. In June 1943 he was deported to Sobibor on the so-called children's transport from camp Vught via camp Westerbork. He was fourteen years old. See also Sam de Winter.
Loekie de Winter was the youngest son of Sam and Henriëtte de Winter. In June 1943 he was deported to Sobibór with the so-called children's transport from camp Vught via camp Westerbork. He was nine years old. See also Sam de Winter.
Maaltje de Winter worked at the De Betuwe jam factory and lived with her brother and sister-in-law Sam and Jet de Winter. She went into hiding but was eventually deported.
