This column, called the Columna de la Pacificacion (in English, The Column of Pacification) is located in the center of the City of Tepic Historic Center....across from the city's cathedral. This website (
visit link) informs us:
"It was at the beginning of the 20th century when the Pacification Column was added to the landscape, which was built in 1834, by orders of the President of the Republic Sebastián Lerdo de Tejada, to commemorate the triumph of the federal army over the Lozadeño rebellion."
